Large Stag, c. 1920

Georges Gardet

A fine quality, rare, early twentieth century bronze large model of a ‘Stag’, entitled ‘Le Grand Cerf’ by Georges Gardet (French, 1863 – 1939). This sculpture, was cast by the Leblanc Barbedienne Foundry, Paris. It is signed ‘G. Gardet’, inscribed ‘Leblanc Barbedienne Fondeur Paris’ and has a dark brown patina with reddy brown undertones.
