Aristide Maillol, (French, 1861 – 1944)

A twentieth century bronze model of a Reclining Female Nude entitled ‘La Rivière’, by Aristide Maillol (French 1861-1944). This bronze was produced using the sand casting process at the Emile Godard foundry, Paris. It is signed with the Maillol monogram ‘M’ and inscribed ‘E. Godard Fondeur, Paris’. This cast has a rich green and black patina.
