Alberic Collin, (Belgian, 1886 – 1962)

A rare, fine quality, twentieth century bronze model of two elephants entitled ‘Elephant Group, Mother and Calf’ by Alberic Collin (Belgian, 1886 – 1962). This bronze was cast by the lost wax process at the Valsuani Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed and stamped in the wax ‘Alberic Collin’ ‘C Valsuani Cire Perdue’. This example has a dark brown patina with lighter reddy brown undertones.
