A fine quality, rare and important, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Crow’ by Francois Pompon (French, 1855 – 1933). This sculpture was cast in bronze by the lost wax process at the C. Valsuani Foundry, Paris. Before casting, it was signed and stamped in the wax ‘Pompon’, ‘C. Valsuani Cire Perdue’. This example has a dark brown and black patina
