Mark Coreth – A Flamboyance of Flamingos
18 March - 10 April 2026
One of the collective nouns for a group of flamingos is a flamboyance, which is a fitting term to describe Mark’s impressive new bronzes depicting this striking bird. Mark set out to capture the vitality and spirit of one of nature’s most elegant and theatrical birds following a visit to the Soysambu Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya. This was a chance for Mark to witness the great colonies of flamingos moving over Lake Elmenteita. It provided him with inspiration to create a sculpture of a large, airborne group of flamingos in take-off. He has succeeded in transforming this idea into sculptural form. Though cast in bronze, the flamingos in Mark’s sculpture seem weightless as they lift into flight.
A range of Mark Coreth’s wildlife sculptures are on display alongside the flamingos.
