Marabou Candlestick, c. 1850

Emmanuel Fremiet

A good quality, nineteenth century bronze model of a candlestick depicting a ‘Marabou Stork and Young Alligator’ by Emmanuel Fremiet (French, 1824 – 1910). This bronze, signed ‘Fremiet’ and with hieroglyphs around the base has a medium brown patina with black undertones.
