Bust of a Panther, c. 1920
An early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Bust of a Panther’ by Georges Lucien Guyot (French,1885-1973). This sculpture was cast in bronze by the lost wax process at the Susse Freres Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed and inscribed in the wax: ‘Guyot’, ‘BRONZE Susse Frs Fondrs, Paris’ and ‘cire perdue’. It has a rich reddy-brown patina with golden undertones.
