Two Bassets, 1853

Emmanuel Fremiet

A fine quality, very rare, nineteenth century life-size bronze model of Two Basset Hounds entitled ‘Ravageot and Ravageode’ by Emmanuel Fremiet (French, 1824-1910). This bronze was produced using the sand casting process in Paris. It is signed ‘E. Fremiet’ and has a green and brown patina with reddy undertones.
