Elephant Seal, c. 1880
A good quality, nineteenth century gilded bronze model of a ‘Balancing Elephant’, modelled as a wax seal by Emmanuel Fremiet (French, 1824 – 1910). This bronze, cold stamped ‘E. FREMIET’ was cast in Paris.
