The Thinker, 1881-1882

Auguste Rodin, (French, 1840-1917)

A fine quality, late nineteenth century bronze model of ‘The Thinker’ by Auguste Rodin (French, 1840-1917). This bronze was produced using the sand casting process at the Alexis Rudier foundry, Paris. It is signed ‘A. Rodin’, and is inscribed ‘Alexis Rudier Fondeur Paris’. It has a dark brown and black patina with golden undertones.
