Ten Fennecs, c. 1927

Edouard-Marcel Sandoz, (Swiss, 1880-1971)

A highly unusual, fine quality twentieth century bronze model of a group of ten fennec foxes entitled, ‘Groupe de Fennecs’. This sculpture was cast in bronze by the lost wax process at the Atillo Valsuani Foundry in Paris. Before casting it was signed and stamped in the wax: ‘Ed. M. Sandoz’, ‘A. Valsuani, cire perdue’. It is a unique piece and has a rich reddy-brown patina with green undertones.
