Description:

A rare, good quality, lifetime cast of ‘Herakles the Archer’ by Emile-Antoine Bourdelle (French, 1861-1929). This bronze, the final study with stylised face, was cast by the sand cast process at the Alexis Rudier Foundry, Paris, circa 1925 and is signed ‘Emile Antoine Bourdelle’ and inscribed ‘no. 2’, ‘Héraklès Archer’ and ‘Alexis Rudier Fondeur Paris’. It has a dark reddy brown patina.
