Mark Coreth’s sculpture of Jane Austen unveiled, June 2025

Published - 29th Jul 2025

Congratulations to Mark Coreth on the unveiling of his sculpture of Jane Austen in Alton, Hampshire. Mark was asked to create the piece through a project run by Alton Town Council as part of the celebration of the author’s 250 birthday. The bronze was cast by Morris Singer Foundry, a Hampshire business who have for many years produced Mark’s sculptures. The bronze bust of Jane Austen, mounted on a cast of her six beloved novels, is given pride of place in Alton’s Regency Garden in the author’s home county.

Mark was interviewed by Angela Rippon for the BBC who covered the unveiling.
