‘Forged, Carved and Cast: From the earth to the artist’s eye’
Our new exhibition ‘Forged, Carved and Cast: From the earth to the artist’s eye’ opens at Sladmore Gallery on 30th June. A curated selection of antique, modern and contemporary work brings together sculptures in bronze, wood and precious metals. The show is an exploration of materials where the artist’s hands, chisel or hammer informs the final creation.
Sladmore is taking part in LONDON ART WEEK which runs from 30th June to 7th July. London Art Week is the UK’s pre-eminent fine arts selling event held both in galleries and online, with a flagship Summer event that embraces the Classic and Old Master auction season in London in July. The art presented – paintings, drawings, sculptures and objects of excellence – traverses all eras from antiquity to the 21st century and in 2023, for the first time, LAW also features rare books and exceptional decorative arts.
A new film: ‘Lost Wax’ by Moses Fiddian Green explores the cycle of creation that accompanies many artists, with a specific process on bronze casting. This will be on show throughout the exhibition.
