A good quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Small Cat Lying Down’ by Theophile Alexandre Steinlen (Swiss, 1859 – 1923). This bronze was cast by the Claude Valsuani Foundry, Paris. Before casting it was signed, stamped and inscribed ‘Steinlen’, ‘C. Valsuani Cire Perdue’,‘Cire Perdue’. This cast has a rich dark brown patina with reddy brown undertones.
