Roger Godchaux | French, 1878-1958
A good quality, early twentieth century bronze model of a ‘Seated Lion Cub’ by Roger Godchaux (French, 1878-1958). This bronze was produced using the lost wax process at the Susse Foundry, Paris. Prior to casting it was signed in the wax ‘Roger Godchaux’, was inset with the foundry’s circular inset seal which reads ‘Susse Fres Edts Paris’ ‘cire perdue’ and was cold stamped ‘BRONZE’. It has a warm brown patina with golden undertones.
