Louis-Ernest Meissonier | French, 1815-1891

A rare, good quality, late nineteenth century bronze model of a Herald on Horseback, Blowing his Trumpet entitled ‘Le Héraut de Murcie’ by Jean Louis Meissonier (French, 1815-1891). This bronze was produced at the Siot Decauville foundry. It is signed ‘J Meissonier’, inscribed ‘Le Heraut de Mercie trompette Louis XIII’ and marked with the seal of the foundry. It has a dark brown patina with medium brown undertones.
