Sleeping Rabbit, c. 1840
A rare, good quality, mid-nineteenth century bronze model of a ‘Sleeping Rabbit’ on a rectangular moulded integrated bronze base by Antoine-Louis Barye, (French, 1796-1875). This bronze was produced using the sand casting process in the artist’s own atelier. It is signed ‘BARYE’ and has a medium brown patina with dark brown undertones.
